At Kennebec Savings Bank, our commitment to community is more than just a core value, it’s a guiding principle that informs everything we do. For more than 155 years, we have proudly served the people of Maine not only as a trusted financial institution, but also as an engaged partner in building a stronger, more vibrant state. We are honored to support the nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and local leaders who work tirelessly every day to improve lives and create lasting change.
At the heart of our mission is a simple yet powerful belief: when we invest in our communities, we all thrive. As a mutual organization, we do not have stockholders. Instead, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to reinvest our earnings back into the communities we serve. Through our Community Dividends program, we are proud to support organizations that address critical needs, deliver essential services, and enhance the well-being of individuals and families. This year Kennebec Savings Bank is expected to contribute over $1.4 million in community support to more than 300 nonprofit organizations across Maine. This funding helps to strengthen the very fabric of our communities and fosters a spirit of collective resilience and hope.
Our commitment doesn’t stop at financial support. We are fortunate to have a team of employees who go above and beyond in their dedication to giving back. Whether they are volunteering their time, serving on nonprofit boards, mentoring youth, or participating in local events, their passion and generosity reflect the culture of service we strive to uphold every day at Kennebec Savings Bank.
Since our founding 155 years ago, our headquarters has remained in Augusta, a testament to our deep roots and enduring commitment to Maine. We have always believed that lasting progress is made through collaboration, which is why we continue to support the important work of the United Way of Kennebec Valley. Their efforts unite donors, partners, and community members in ways that drive meaningful, long-term impact.
The Giving Guide is a powerful reminder of the incredible work happening all around us. To every nonprofit leader, volunteer, donor, and advocate, thank you. Together, we are creating a future that is stronger, more connected, and full of promise.
Gratefully,
Andrew Silsby President & CEO Kennebec Savings Bank
