Significant professional accomplishment: Bristol Seafood became the first Fair Trade Certified seafood company in the U.S., earning spots on the top 25 most sustainable and most innovative lists issued by industry trade publications — all while creating quality jobs and meaningfully growing company revenue.
Passion project: My volunteer work focuses on equity, climate, and the arts. I’ve had the chance to work most closely with Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, Maine Public Broadcasting, Maine Venture Fund and the Portland Museum of Art.
Audacious goal: To make seafood America’s favorite protein.
Favorite quote: “Superlative performance is really a confluence of dozens of small skills or activities, each one learned or stumbled upon, which have been carefully drilled into habit and then are fitted together in a synthesized whole. There is nothing extraordinary or superhuman in any one of those actions; only the fact that they are done consistently and correctly, and all together, produce excellence.” — Dan Chambliss
Favorite book: “Radical Candor,” by Kim Scott
Favorite TV show: Netflix’s “Chef’s Table”
How do you recharge: I go fly fishing or, in a pinch, I take the slow route home from work while listening to Maine Public Radio.
