Acadia Federal Credit Union plans to open its third branch in Bangor on Wednesday.
The new branch, in a former Rite Aid building at 713 Broadway, features modern teller pods, a video room for members, office and meeting space, and a 24-hour ATM.
Nine employees will work at the branch, but it also has room to accommodate future growth, which Acadia said in a news release is “critical for the years ahead.”
The Fort Kent-based credit union announced the new branch almost a year ago.
“Acadia FCU’s success and growth over the last decade has outpaced the credit union’s infrastructure, making it evident that a new branch was needed,” Acadia said in a news release at the time.
The credit union already has two Bangor branches, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and on Stillwater Avenue. There's also a branch in Brewer and five in Aroostook County — in Fort Kent, Madawaska, St. Agatha, St. Francis and Ashland.
Credit union representatives were scheduled to open the branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon.
Congrats to Acadia FCU on their new location!
