Another toast to Portland's beer scene

Photo Credit / Bissell Brothers The crew at Bissell Brothers Brewing is shown in a celebratory mood almost a year ago, when the company announced its now-completed expansion and move to Thompson's Point in Portland. As one of 16 breweries for a city of 66,000, Bissell helped put Portland No. 2 on the 'Best Cities for Beer Drinkers' list.

“The Best Cities for Beer Drinkers” list has Portland at No. 2, saying “it’s a smaller city with a big appetite for beer.”

SmartAsset cites factors like Portland’s 16 breweries for a city with a population of 66,000 and high ratings on Yelp.

Portland topped the list last year and was unseated by Asheville, N.C., which has more microbreweries per 100,000 people than any city in the country.

After Portland, SmartAsset has Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Portland, Ore., rounding out the Top 5.
