Bridge subcontractor's tugboat sinks

U.S. Coast Guard crews will attempt today to retrieve a tugboat that sank in the Piscataqua River Wednesday.

The boat, the Benjamin Bailey, is owned by Eliot-based Riverside Marine, a subcontractor to the firm working on the new Memorial Bridge connecting Portsmouth, N.H., and Kittery, The Associated Press reported.

Two people who were on board the ship escaped safely and the reason for the ship sinking is still not known.
