Brunswick economic development director resigns

Mathew Eddy has resigned as executive director of the Brunswick Department of Economic and Community Development to take a job with Eaton Peabody Consulting Group.

Eddy, who resigned from the Brunswick post on Thursday, will become executive director of the Bangor law firm's consulting group, which is based in Augusta, according to The Times Record in Brunswick. Eddy was executive director of Brunswick's economic and community development for five years, and told the paper he wanted to work on development projects in the private sector on the state level. His resignation takes effect on Dec. 24.

Eddy's resignation comes as the town is considering restructuring its economic development department. The Town Council has scheduled two workshops this month to examine the town's economic development process and possible reorganization of the department, according to the paper.
