Cross Insurance, one of the largest independent insurance providers in the Northeast, is excited to announce the opening of a new office in Providence.

The 30,000-square-foot office, at a refurbished industrial site called the Foundry, will accommodate 75 Cross employees. The employees had been stationed in office space in the Rumford section of East Providence, about a 15-minute drive from the new location.

The revitalized industrial site is along the Woonasquatucket River and close to other landmarks in Providence. A ribbon cutting was held at the site this week.

“This exciting development underscores Providence’s appeal as a strategic hub for innovative companies looking to grow in southern New England," said Ted Carr, Providence's director of economic development.

The expansion "significantly strengthens" Cross Insurance’s presence in the southern New England market, the Bangor-based company said in a press release.

"Providence stood out as the ideal location," said Cross President and CEO Jonathan Cross. "Our new space at the Foundry is not only designed to support the continued growth of our existing southern New England clients but also strategically positioned in this vibrant city to provide an expansive insurance platform, leveraging the region’s largest marketplace outreach as we continue to grow."

The new office offers ample parking and access to interstates 95 and 195. It is also close to modern loft apartments, Providence Place Mall, the Providence Train Station, and the Rhode Island State House makes it an attractive choice for prospective Cross clients and employees.

Founded in 1954, Cross Insurance has grown through the acquisition of more than 120 insurance agencies across the Northeast. Today, it has 1,100 employees across 40 offices in New England, New York and Florida.

Cross Insurance is also the official insurance broker for Gillette Stadium, the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution and the Portland Sea Dogs. Additionally, the company is a Cornerstone Partner of the New England Patriots Foundation, which supports marginalized individuals and families.
