Developers complete Hathaway purchase

A pair of developers yesterday said they've officially purchased the former Hathaway shirt factory in Waterville and secured $40 million in financing to redevelop the site.

Paul Boghossian of Rhode Island and Tom Neimann of North Carolina purchased the 450,000-square-foot brick building from the city for $350,000, according to a press release. City councilors approved the sale in late October.

Boghossian and Neimann told the paper they plan to have offices and apartments occupied by September 2008. It is the first phase of a $70-million plan to develop the Hathaway building, as well as two neighboring buildings in the Lockwood Mill complex.
