Diversified, a Portland-based trade show and media company, has promoted Janice Rogers to the newly created role of chief people officer.
The company said in a prepared release that the newly created position will focus on advancing the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture.
In this new role, she will focus on global initiatives related to DEI, creating guidelines to ensure the company's alignment. Rogers will report to Ted Wirth, CEO of Diversified.
“As Diversified continues to grow and evolve, we recognized the need for dedicated leadership focused entirely on our most valuable asset: our people,” said Wirth. “The creation of the chief people officer role demonstrates our commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture, supporting employee professional development, and ensuring Diversified remains a place where talented individuals thrive.”
Rogers earned her bachelor's degree in French literature and began working in human resources shortly after graduating from college. She started working in human resources for Diversified's U.S. division in 1995. In 2014, she became the corporate vice president of human resources.
Throughout her career at Diversified, she has completed extensive training in human resources and executive education.
She has witnessed the organization transition to new business models and geographies. She has worked closely with senior leadership on organizational development and planning strategies to attract and retain top talent.
"I am incredibly honored and grateful for this opportunity to serve as chief people officer," said Rogers. "After a long career in human resources, I remain passionate about creating workplaces where people can thrive. I'm excited to continue working across our organization as a champion for our HR, DEI and ESG efforts, helping to build a culture that not only drives business success but also makes a meaningful impact on our employees and communities."
