Franklin co. chamber moves to Walmart rent-free
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has a new home: the Farmington Walmart.
The space will be rent-free through the new year, the Sun Journal reported, an effort to help the cash-strapped chamber organization make it through a time of financial challenges.
The paper reports that the organization was logging around $9,000 in monthly expenses and could not keep up, prompting the organization to seek ways to continue by either moving or sub-letting space.
The Franklin chamber will still pay rent on offices leased at the CN Brown Co. but expects to save on utilities by making the move to Walmart by Oct. 1.
