NBT Bank names regional commercial banking manager for Maine office

NBT Bank has promoted Mark Schaub to regional commercial banking manager for Maine.

A member of the NBT Bank team since 2019, Schaub previously served as senior commercial banking relationship manager. In his new role, he will manage the bank's commercial lending team and portfolio in Maine, assisting in the development and execution of long-term commercial lending strategies.

He is based at NBT Bank’s Maine regional headquarters at 5 Widgery Wharf in Portland.

“I’m proud of the work NBT Bank has done to serve commercial banking clients in Maine,” said Schaub. “I’m very excited for the continuation of that work with a great group of colleagues and to see where it takes NBT in Maine next.”

Schaub has over 17 years of experience in commercial banking. Prior to joining NBT, he served as a commercial lender at both TD Bank and Farm Credit East. He also spent 20 years guiding whitewater rafting trips in Northern Maine. 

He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine. Schaub serves as vice chair of the board of Pride Portland! and has also been involved in the Equality Community Center in Portland and the Maine Real Estate & Development Association.

“Mark’s deep connections and leadership across the region have helped shape NBT’s growth in the Maine commercial banking market,” said NBT Bank Maine Regional President Michael O’Reilly. “His bright and purpose-driven attitude keeps our teams active and engaged with each other and the Portland community.”

NBT Bancorp (Nasdaq: NBTB), which is based in Norwich, N.Y., had $11.89 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2024.
