New hires

Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty in Portland hired Marjanne Barbour as a real estate professional in its Camden office. The agency also added the Downeast Properties team, consisting of Jeffrey Allen, Tina Allen, Parker Allen, Annie Allen and Marty Dischinger, to its Northeast Harbor office.

Maine State Credit Union in Augusta hired Paul Doody as senior vice president of commercial banking based in its Rockland location. Doody has 40 years of banking experience.

The Mitchell Institute in Portland hired Lauren Benton as director of brand and communications. Benton most recently served as assistant director of graduate enrollment marketing at Mississippi State University.

East Brown Cow, a real estate management, investment and development firm in Portland, hired Alan Campbell as maintenance technician and Max Soley as technology specialist.

Spinnaker Trust in Portland hired Forrest Hamilton as an investment analyst. Hamilton was previously a senior associate at RBC Capital Markets.

The Maine Trails Coalition in Bath hired Leigh Hallett as director. Hallett most recently served as public information officer for USDA Rural Development.

RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland hired Katie Hatch as a Realtor and licensed associate broker.

Central Maine Power, a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc., promoted Linda Ball to president. Ball had served as vice president of customer service since 2019.

Island Institute in Rockland promoted Peter King to CFO. King was previously director of financial operations.

Norway Savings Bank promoted Dawn Mugford to senior vice president, chief risk officer. Mugford was previously senior vice president, risk and bank secrecy act officer.

KeyBank in Portland promoted Cassandra Manson to area leader, retail banking. Previously, Manson was merchant sales advisor.

InterMed, a physician-owned primary care and specialty practice in Portland, promoted Glenn Buchberger, Joelle Gagnon, Alida Leavitt and Emily Steinberg to shareholders.

Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden promoted Bridgette Shorey to vice president, commercial lending officer.

Appointments

Hancock Lumber in Casco added Abby Doherty and Sydney Hillman, both seventh generation family members and owners, to its board of directors. Doherty is a senior account executive at Datadog while Hillman is an on-air host and producer for "Maine Live" on News Center Maine.

Achievements

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor said it received “Primary Stroke Center” recertification by the Joint Commission and recognized as “Stroke Silver Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll” as part of the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines awards.

Verrill, a law firm in Portland, announced that several of its Maine-based lawyers were recognized by Best Lawyers in America 2026. Twelve were named “Lawyer of the Year,” 53 were recognized in the “Best Lawyers” category and four were identified in the “Ones to Watch” category.
