NY social media co. seeks to grow in Portland

A New York City-based social media company that is advised by the father of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has plans to grow in Portland.

Dave Kerpen, CEO of Likeable Local, told the Portland Press Herald that he decided to place his development team in Portland, in part driven by his belief in the city's growing tech scene that has potential to grow even more.

Likeable Local, which designs websites and cloud-based software and has more than 725 small business customers, currently has six team members in Portland, working in the ThinkTank co-working space on Congress Street. But, Kerpen said, the company plans to have 100 employees in the next five years, with its own office space by the beginning of 2015.
