Orion Breen will take over leadership of E2Tech
Environmental and Energy Technology Council, more commonly known as E2Tech, has hired Orion Breen as its next executive director.
Breen succeeds Eric Howard, who started in August 2023 and succeeded Marty Grohman, who stepped down after four years at the helm of E2Tech.
Breen has held roles at MEMIC, United Way of Greater Portland, Lincoln County Healthcare.
“I want to hear from you — what are the biggest challenges and opportunities you are seeing — so we can chart a course together that will see better informed policies and long-term prosperity to the benefit of the people of Maine and the planet,” Orion wrote in a social media post.
“In this dynamic time, E2Tech is essential to bring people together, share knowledge and resources, foster collaboration and partnerships, as well as educate the public and decision makers about the myriad ways our members improve the economy, the environment, affordability, health and quality of life here in Maine and beyond.”
Breen earned his bachelor's degree in cinema-television production from the University of Southern California.
E2Tech's mission is to build Maine's environmental and energy technology economy, including renewable energy companies, environmental engineers, emerging entrepreneurs, innovators, and designers, as well as government agencies, educational institutions, nonprofits and businesses.
