Saint Joe's president departs

Joseph Lee has stepped down as president of Saint Joseph's College in Standish after four years on the job.

Lee, who was appointed president in 2007, announced his resignation, effective immediately, to the college's Board of Trustees, according to the Portland Press Herald. Lee said "the time is right" for him to leave the post, and he plans to spend more time with his family, including his three sons. He began his career at the school in 2005 as vice president of enrollment management.

College spokesman William McCarthy said the board will discuss appointing an interim president at its next meeting, according to the paper.
