South Portland engineering and land development consulting firm Sebago Technics Inc. added structural engineering capabilities and a midcoast presence with the acquisition of Lincoln/Haney Engineering Associates in Brunswick.
“Their commitment to personal service, technical excellence and long-term partnerships aligns perfectly with Sebago Technics' client-focused approach." said Mark Adams, Sebago’s president and CEO.
Sebago was founded in 1981 and serves public and private sector clients throughout Maine and northern New England. Services include civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying, planning, transportation, environmental services and now structural engineering.
Lincoln/Haney was established in 1984 and serves clients throughout Maine and the U.S. across commercial and residential construction, municipal and industrial facilities, educational and civic buildings, health care facilities and mixed-use developments. The firm specializes in new construction, renovations, historic building restorations and structural assessments.
Lincoln/Haney has eight employees. With the acquisitions, Sebago's total employee count is now 135.
Headquartered at 75 John Roberts Road, South Portland, Sebago’s additional offices are in Sanford, Bridgton, Bath and now Brunswick, serving primarily Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Services cover all aspects of projects, from initial site assessment and design to navigating permitting and overseeing construction.
The company reached 100% employee-ownership in 2007.
“Sebago’s employee-owned structure, additional services and collaborative culture create new opportunities for our team and our clients, while preserving the personalized service we’ve always valued,” said Michael Cunningham, Lincoln/Haney’s president.
The acquisition is part of Sebago’s growth plan. Lincoln/Haney's expertise in working with multidisciplinary design teams will enhance Sebago’s ability to provide comprehensive, integrated engineering solutions, according to a news release.
Lincoln/Haney will continue to operate from its Brunswick location. All of its employees are slated to join Sebago.
In December 2022, Sebago acquired Corner Post Land Surveying in Sanford as a strategic step to be more central to downtown Sanford, the developed areas of the community, and a region that includes York County and southern New Hampshire.
