Startup funding offered for Lewiston businesses

Lewiston-based entrepreneurs can get up to $15,000 in funding to launch a new business or to add a new line to an existing operation through a new grant program.

The program is being offered by the Lewiston Economic and Community Development office and the Lewiston-Auburn Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Interested business owners and would-be entrepreneurs are invited to learn about the program at a workshop Nov. 10, from 8-9:30 a.m., at the chamber office at 413 Lisbon St. in Lewiston.

This workshop will cover eligibility, how to apply, what expenses are covered under the program and tips for creating a strong business plan and budget.
