State projects population stagnant to 2030

Maine's population is expected to drop slightly from 2010 to 2030, according to projections from the Governor's Office of Policy and Management.

The OPM projections predict the state's population will grow from 1,327,370 today to 1,331,607 in 2020. But by 2025, Maine's population is expected to drop again, losing around 1,000 people. Between 2025 and 2030, the state is expected to lose another 5,000, landing at a population of 1,325,751 in 2030.
