MEREDA Matters podcasts focus on a broad range of issues related to real estate development and construction in Maine. The 30th episode just dropped and it features Corinne Watson, co-founder of Tiny Homes of Maine, and Kevin Hancock, managing owner of Hancock Lumber, talking with MEREDA vice president Jenn Small about their partnership.
Watson and her husband founded Tiny Homes of Maine with a focus on providing more opportunities for home ownership. After a fire burned down their facility in 2023, Hancock reached out to Watson, and the two forged a partnership to scale up the business.
Their conversation explores how to buy a tiny home, and the two pieces of legislation – LD-1981 and LD-1530 – which Watson facilitated, that helped allow for more tiny homes to be built in the state.
Tiny Homes of Maine are made in Maine with Maine materials, and Watson has developed a lean manufacturing process to reduce costs and the production timeline. Listen in to learn more.
And check out the 29 other podcasts (over two seasons), available on the MEREDA website.
