More Information

Significant professional accomplishment: Easily my biggest professional accomplishment is building the largest eel farm in the U.S., but it has been tackling all the hurdles that lead to this farm that feel like more of the accomplishment. Taking the thought of building an eel aquaculture farm in coastal Maine from an idea in one woman’s head, to a few eels in a basement, to the completion of a 27,000-square-foot farm in Waldoboro with an incredible team of people connected to it is something I’m incredibly proud of building here in Maine.

Passion project: Flower gardening.

Audacious goal: It was building an eel farm, so I’m brainstorming the next goal.

Favorite quote: “If we hope to change the conduct of human society, from our current patterns of profligate consumption to a future condition of sustainable living, then we need to start at home — with knowledge and action. We need to open our eyes to the wonder of life around us, then roll up our sleeves and work to help save our own corner of the planet from despair.” — Don Hudson
