Calling all big spenders

A number of Portland retailers target a decidedly high-end clientèle; in Mainebiz's current cover story we look to see if strained consumer spending is a major concern for these business owners.

Shoppers strolling through downtown Portland have plenty of options to spend their cash. And more often these days, the shops and boutiques along Congress Street and in the Old Port are attracting consumers with a broad mix of high-end items, from glossy modern furniture with hefty price tags to expensive designer jeans.
