Cianbro names new president

The Cianbro Companies in Pittfield has shaken up its leadership structure, appointing Peter "Andi" Vigue as president and COO of Cianbro Corp., the company's heavy construction arm.

Andi Vigue replaces his father, Peter G. Vigue, as president. The elder Vigue, however, will remain CEO of The Cianbro Cos., which oversees all the Cianbro divisions, and will replace Ival R. "Bud" Cianchette, one of the company's founders, as board chairman. This marks the first time someone outside the Cianchette family has served as chairman, according to the Central Maine Morning Sentinel.

The elder Vigue told the Bangor Daily News that his new position will free him up from daily involvement with the company, giving him more time to focus on development and future projects. Andi Vigue told the newspaper that his father will work on projects that include an east-west highway in Maine, oil rig contracts and wind farms.
