Cianbro to help expand oil refinery

Cianbro said today it has landed a multimillion-dollar contract to construct building frames in Brewer to expand a Texas oil refinery.

The contract calls for Pittsfield-based Cianbro Corp. to construct about 50 large building modules weighing over 500 tons each at the former Eastern Fine Paper Co. mill site in Brewer. The modules will help expand the Motiva Enterprises LLC oil refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, according to a press release. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Beginning in April, Cianbro expects to employ at least 500 people at the site the company recently renamed the Eastern Manufacturing Facility. Cianbro is currently renovating the site to prepare for module construction.
