Decking company installs new CEO

Martin Grohman has stepped down as head of the composite decking company he started with a partner in 1999.

Correct Building Product's board of directors recently named Peter V. Anania as president and CEO, while Grohman will stay on as board chairman to help with marketing and environmental sustainability initiatives, the Portland Press Herald said.

Grohman told the paper he is leaving his post to ensure the Biddeford company has the right leadership to grow. "The entrepreneur that can run a company from zero up to $500 million is fairly rare," said Grohman. "I think it's important to know when you're not the best person in the room to do a particular job -- whatever it may be."

Correct Building, which produces decking made with 60% recycled hardwood sawdust and 40% polypropylene, has 75 employees and annual revenues of just under $30 million, according to the Press Herald.
