A Bedford, N.H.-based real estate title and law firm has made its first foray into Maine.

Absolute Title and the Law Office of Matthew W. Neuman opened an office at 500 Southborough Drive in South Portland.

The South Portland location becomes Absolute Title’s sixth brick-and-mortar office. Maine-based real estate attorney Jon Wood, who joined Absolute earlier this year, will work out of the office with four new employees.

“Our team has always enjoyed working with clients and colleagues in Maine, and business in this market has been growing significantly,” said owner Matthew Neuman.

The firm’s Maine team is working out of a temporary office at 500 Southborough Drive while a nearby permanent space at 600 Southborough Drive is finished for winter occupancy.

The location was chosen because it provides convenient access from I-95 and I-295, according to a news release. The team plans to serve the entire state using its fleet of “mobile closing vehicles,” which travel to clients throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for real estate closings.

Founded in 2005, Absolute Title has been handling real estate closings in Maine since 2007.

In addition to its headquarters in Bedford, N.H., and the South Portland location,  Absolute has offices in Concord, Portsmouth and Conway, N.H., as well as Lowell, Mass.
