Here are the 2025 'Best Places to Work in Maine'

A total of 143 companies, across all business categories, have been named to this year's list of the "Best Places to Work in Maine."

A number of those being honored made the cut in previous years as well, including Allagash Brewing, Consigli Construction Co., HighByte and AthenaHealth.

Businesses cited include 42 small employers, with 15 to 49 employees; 71 medium employers with 50 to 249 staff; and 30 large companies employing 250 or more.

This is the 20th year for the honoree program, operated by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group and Minneapolis-based BridgeTower Media.

To be eligible, nominees could be a for-profit or nonprofit business or government entity that employs at least 15 full- or part-time workers in the state, operates a Maine-based brick-and-mortar facility, and is at least one year old.

The winners were selected and ranked by both an evaluation of each nominee's workplace policies, practices and demographics, worth approximately 25% of the evaluation score, and an employee survey, which made up 75% of the final score.

“The 2025 Best Places to Work in Maine know that the people in their organizations are the key to their success. These businesses realize what it takes to create an environment that results in teamwork and excellence,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media for the east division.

The top ranked employers in each category will be announced Oct. 7 in an evening ceremony at the Augusta Civic Center.
