“Matt is the right leader at the right time,” said Trevor Maxwell, the founder of Man Up to Cancer. “Men facing cancer go through some of the hardest challenges a person can face. Matt brings the leadership experience, compassion, and vision to serve those men and take our movement to the next level."

Kozlovac comes to the job with more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience at organizations including the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross and the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania native holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, along with dual bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Maxwell, a cancer patient from Cape Elizabeth, started Man Up to Cancer in 2020.

In just five years, it has evolved from a grassroots peer support network into a movement that encompasses in-person retreats and a program that supplies backpacks with fleece blankets and other items to men undergoing cancer treatment.
