Midcoast FCU gets green light for expansion in Waldo, Cumberland counties

Midcoast Federal Credit Union has received regulatory approval to begin serving residents throughout Cumberland and Waldo counties.

The National Credit Union Association recently approved Midcoast's expansion, according to a news release Monday.

Midcoast, which ranks No. 15 among the state's largest credit unions according to the 2022 Mainebiz Book of Lists, already serves Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and the town of Durham in Androscoggin County.

“Our credit union continues to thrive in Maine’s mid-coast region by serving well the financial needs of our diverse community,” said Joseph Gervais, president and CEO, in the release. 

“We are pleased to extend our comprehensive menu of loan and depository products, convenient technology-based solutions, and exceptional service delivery to Waldo and Cumberland counties."

Midcoast FCU has over 15,400 members and $241 million in assets. The nonprofit financial cooperative employs over 60 people, with offices in Freeport, Brunswick, Bath, Edgecomb and Thomaston.
