Oakhurst drivers sue for unpaid overtime

A small group of former and current Oakhurst Dairy delivery drivers is seeking unpaid overtime in a class-action lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court this week.

The Portland Press Herald reported that two former and one current delivery truck drivers claim they were paid a flat, weekly salary regardless of how much they worked. The three drivers, who said they typically worked 50 to 60 hours a week, are asking for Oakhurst to pay them and other drivers for unpaid overtime, liquidated damages and interest. The company employs about 50 drivers and pays them in the range of $1,000 a week, an attorney for the drivers said.

John Bennett and Thomas Brigham, Oakhurst co-presidents, said on Monday they have yet to be served with the lawsuit and declined to comment until they do see it.
