Passport change likely delayed

President George W Bush is likely to authorize a federal budget that includes a provision delaying stricter passport requirements between the U.S. and Canada.

Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy added a provision to the budget passed Thursday that would delay until 2009 a new rule requiring people entering the U.S. from Canada to have a passport, according to the Associated Press.

Leahy's office says the president is expected to sign the bill.
