Portland's East End to be home to new independent bookstore

The city of Portland will be home to a fourth independent bookstore this fall when Print: A Bookstore opens its doors at 273 Congress St. on Munjoy Hill, in the former Angela Adams home-furnishings site.

The Portland Press Herald reports that the co-owners of the upcoming bookstore, Emily Russo and Josh Christie, have a combined 20 years of experience in the bookselling business. Russo ran a book club and managed events at bookstores in Massachusetts and New York, while Christie has worked for the independent bookstore Sherman’s Books and Stationery since 2004.

“There are so many great authors and small publishers around,” Christie told the Press Herald. “There’s an appetite for books and literature in Portland.”

Print: A Bookstore is slated to open the first week of October.
