Portland property manager Rosa Scarcelli is the latest Maine business person to toss her hat into the gubernatorial ring.
Scarcelli, 39, announced yesterday that she intends to enter the Democratic primary for governor. The owner and CEO of Stanford Management, which provides affordable housing in more than 30 Maine communities, said being a successful businesswoman outside Augusta's inner circle gives her a better perspective for effecting change. "Maine people want change and if we want change, we have to change who we send to Augusta," she said in her prepared announcement. Scarcelli is a native of Wilton.
In the primary, Scarcelli will run against former Attorney General Steven Rowe and state Rep. Dawn Hill of York, a lawyer and small business owner serving her second term in the House, who have also declared their candidacies.
I'm voting for her, I love her ideas.
