Startup Maine on Tuesday unveiled a free online tool for entrepreneurs that aims to be a one-stop shop for information on funding, mentors and other resources.
The site, at maine-atlas.com, allows users to search around 100 resources by geography, industry, startup stage and cost.
Users are also invited to submit reviews on various programs and organizations so that others can learn from their experiences and insights. The site says that it will be free of sponsored reviews.
Patrick Diamond, a Portland-based entrepreneur and member of the Startup Maine volunteer board, announced the news at the end of a morning founders panel at the group’s annual gathering in Portland. Startup Maine Week started on Monday and will run through Thursday.
“We’re building it as we go,” Diamond told attendees before they headed off to a half-hour coffee break between sessions.
In a quick interview after the announcement, Diamond told Mainebiz that it took about a week to build the site in response to demand, and that the aim is evolve with input from users.
“We’re at the stage now where we’ve built a good base product, but I want to invite the community here to help us build that,” he said. “It’ll grow, it’ll change.”
