She succeeds Jennifer Cummings, who recently joined the commercial banking team at Camden National Bank after more than 13 years with FAME.

Before joining the agency, Mace served as director of the Office of Business Development at the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development. For more than six years, she led the state’s efforts to attract investment and expand existing businesses.

Mace has also served as executive director of the Biobased Maine trade association and held roles at the Northern Border Regional Commission, the University of Southern Maine and engineering firm Woodard & Curran.

In her new role, Mace will oversee capital access strategies and tools to support businesses across the state.

FAME is a quasi-independent state agency that provides innovative financial solutions to help Maine citizens pursue business and educational opportunities.

“I have long been aware of the significant impact FAME has had on Maine businesses and the economy overall,” she said. “I am very excited to use my skills and experience here at FAME to improve the access to capital for Maine businesses and entrepreneurs at every stage.”

In 2020, DECD named Mace the state of Maine manager of the year. She was also a 2016 Mainebiz Next List honoree.

Mace earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and environmental studies from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the University of Southern Maine.
