FirstPark redefines its scope
FirstPark in Oakland last week formed an ad hoc committee to review the park's guidelines to possibly steer the park away from high-tech businesses.
The creation of the new committee was precipitated by the request of a beverage warehouse distribution center to move into the park. The committee will report to the park's general assembly within the next 60 days. The general assembly has the final vote on the matter.
FirstPark, established in 2001, has in the past two years reported a $265,000 shortfall caused by lack of new tenants, the Central Maine Morning Sentinel reported.
