Gideon Asen, a law firm in Auburn specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury claims, hired Joe Foltz as director of its case intake, evaluation and core case unit.
Uprise Partners, a cybersecurity and IT managed services provider in Portland, hired Jon Zawrotny as vice president of strategic services and Deb McCann as vice president of finance and business intelligence. Zawrotny was previously senior manager of account management services at Dell Technologies while McCann was director of business intelligence, finance at Blue Mantis.
The Professional Logging Contractors of the Northeast in August hired Maggie Rideout as certification coordinator. Most recently, Rideout was subcontractor onboarding specialist and risk coordinator for Tilson Technologies.
Sprague Operating Resources LLC, a provider of energy and material handling services across the Northeast including Portland, hired Karl Schmidt as co-president. Schmidt was previously with Hartree Partners LP, Sprague’s parent company.
U.S. Small Business Administration named Peter Steele as regional administrator for the New England region. Steele most recently served as senior manager of corporate communications for Boston-based Sappi North America, which has Maine paper mills in Skowhegan and Westbrook and offices in Portland. Steele worked as a communications specialist for former Gov. Paul LePage.
Sebago Technics, an engineering and design firm in South Portland, announced several promotions including Amy Bell Segal to vice president of landscape architecture and Henry Hess to manager of landscape architecture on its landscape architecture team; Jacob Hunnewell to project engineer and Tanner Goodine, Kailey Gullikson and Dylan Stuart to senior civil engineer on its engineering team; on its survey-geomatics team Tyler Pollock was promoted to surveyor, Glenn Campbell and Alex Jakubowski to senior surveyor, Brian Cook was named survey coordinator for the South Portland office and Jeff Broumas was appointed survey coordinator for the Bridgton office; and Mathew Orr was promoted to project manager in project management advancement.
