A new gym opens this month in developer Tim Harrington’s Five Points shopping center at 420 Alfred Road in Biddeford.
Orange Circuit Fitness has renovated the 10,500-square-foot end location in the plaza, which was formerly occupied by Planet Fitness.
Gym owner Patrick Welch told Mainebiz his new facility offers functional training, free weights, hydro massage, cardio machines and tanning. A juice bar is also in the works.
By summer, the company expects to be open 24 hours a day.
Harrington’s Atlantic Hospitality group has been revamping the 140,000-square-foot shopping center with a focus on entertainment businesses.
Bounce Pickle + Play indoor pickleball courts will open in June in the former Smitty’s movie theater spot. Match Point Kitchen restaurant is also scheduled for a mid-June opening.
Tenants that are remaining in the rehabbed mall include Goodwill and Sherwin Williams.
Harrington, a 2023 Mainebiz Business Leader of the Year, is known for his development of hospitality properties in Maine including six Kennebunk Resort Collection hotels and the Lincoln in Biddeford.
