Arts commission hires new director

The Maine Arts Commission has appointed Donna McNeil as its new director.

McNeil joined the state agency in 2003 and previously served as contemporary arts and public art director, and assistant director, according to a press release. As director, McNeil will continue to represent the arts commission at the New England Foundation for the Arts.

McNeil takes over for Alden Wilson, who in October announced his resignation after leading the arts agency as director for 33 years.
