New hires

People’s United Bank in Portland hired Lucie Hannigan as senior vice president, senior treasury management officer. Hannigan was previously with TD Bank.

Spurwink, a nonprofit in Portland that provides behavioral health and educational services, hired Jessie Graham as lead speech language pathologist and Sharon Bolduc as billing clerk in its finance department.

Maine Media Collective in Portland hired Sarah Stebbins as managing editor at Maine Home+Design, Paul Koenig as managing editor of Old Port magazine and Joel Kuschke as a production manager. Stebbins was previously a freelance writer and editor, Koenig was online editor with Mainebiz and Kuschke was a designer and account manager with Welch Sign.

Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty in Portland hired Mary Jean Labbe as part of its York County based real estate brokerage team.

Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston hired Jennifer Seekins as senior vice president, chief treasury services and business development officer. Most recently, Seekins was team leader and senior treasury and payment services officer at Bangor Savings Bank.

Murray Plumb & Murray, a law firm in Portland, hired Amy Phalon as an attorney practicing on special education matters. Phalon was previously with Gibbons Stevens Law Office in Kittery.

The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce hired Deborah Neuman as president and CEO. Neuman was previously deputy commissioner for the Department of Economic and Community Development.

The Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockport hired Carol Timberlake as administrator. Timberlake was most recently with North Country Associates.

Maine Medical Partners in Portland hired doctors Heidi Golden, Christine Kleinman and Kathryn Brouillette. Golden joined the Maine Medical Partners – Endocrinology and Diabetes Center while Kleinman and Brouillette joined Maine Medical Partners – Hospital Medicine.

Bernstein Shur, a law firm in Portland, hired Ovide Lamontagne as a shareholder in the firm’s Manchester, N.H., office. Lamontagne, a former Republican nominee for governor in New Hampshire, previously served as general counsel to Americans United for Life, a public policy organization located in Washington, D.C.

The American Red Cross in Maine hired Aly Finn as disaster program specialist, serving Southern Maine. Finn was previously a community outreach and disaster education specialist with the Florida Red Cross.

H.M. Payson, a registered investment advisor in Portland, hired Joy Feng as a research analyst. Feng was previously a research analyst with Fund Wisdom in Boston.

The Augusta Downtown Alliance hired Michael Hall as Main Street executive director. Hall was previously a contract marketing coordinator for Wounded Warrior Project.

Machias Savings Bank hired Gregory Jones as assistant vice president, branch manager of its Rockland location. Jones was most recently the Rockland office branch manager for Bar Harbor Bank.

The World Pro Ski Tour in Portland hired Craig Marshall as executive director of sales and marketing.

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution hired Laura Paul and Samantha Rousselle as tellers.

Diversified Communications, an international media company in Portland, hired Andrew Sloat as a quality assurance engineer, Marie Whitney as a registration administrator, Kara O’Brien as a speaker coordinator, Mariah Blodgett as a production designer, Abby Laplante as a registration coordinator, Becca Carifio as a certification administrator and Theresa Slusher as a senior production designer.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Johanne Lapointe as senior vice president/internal audit. Lapointe most recently worked as vice president of regulatory reporting for TD Bank.

Words@Work, a marketing company in Falmouth, hired Rob Cimitile as marketing coordinator.

Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockland hired Amy Mayes as dining services supervisor at Quarry Hill, a retirement community in Camden, Denise Tailby as a nurse practitioner at Quarry Hill and the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland and Carol Timberlake as an administrator at the Knox Center for Long Term Care. Mayes was with the Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Mich., Tailby was previously with JML Care Center in Falmouth, Mass., and Timberlake was most recently with North Country Associates.

Cornerstone Financial Planning in Portland hired Taylor Aisenson as office manager. Aisenson was previously office manager for Delta Air Conditioning Co. Inc. in Calabasas, Calif.

Community Concepts, a nonprofit community action agency in Lewiston, hired Candace Sanborn as vice president of resource development and marketing and Will Fessenden as communication and events manager.

Northeast Bank in Lewiston hired Pauline Chouinard as branch manager in Auburn. Chouinard was previously staff development officer with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Eaton Peabody, a law firm in Bangor, hired Michael Tadenev as a real estate law, business counseling and estate planning attorney in the firm’s Ellsworth office.

Promotions

Maine Media Collective in Portland promoted Rebecca Falzano to editor-at-large. Falzano was previously managing editor of Maine Home+Design magazine.

Auburn Savings Bank promoted William Tracy to president and CEO. Tracy was previously senior lender and executive vice president.

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution promoted Kari Brawn to branch supervisor in Biddeford. Brawn was previously business operations supervisor in the bank’s main office.

Pierce Atwood, a law firm in Portland, named John Aromando litigation practice group chair. A partner with the firm since 1993, Aromando’s practice focuses on defending businesses and individuals in complex litigation, for clients in financial services, energy, pulp and paper, manufacturing, insurance, and professional services.

The Maine Department of Labor in Augusta promoted Karen Fraser to director of the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services. Fraser previously served as acting director.

Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockland promoted Ann Parent to a clinical dietitian at Quarry Hill, a retirement community in Camden. Parent was previously with the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland.

Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting and consulting firm in Portland, promoted Jeffrey Wheeler to director of audit. Wheeler, a principal in the firm’s Manchester, N.H., office, specializes in family businesses, private equity and venture-backed entities in the manufacturing, distribution, technology and service sectors.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust promoted Joseph Pratt to president of Bar Harbor Trust Services. Pratt has been the managing director of Bar Harbor Trust Services since 2004.

Drummond Woodsum, a law firm in Portland, announced Adrianne Fouts, Rodney Lake, Laurel McClead, Keriann Roman and Christopher Stevenson became shareholders. Fouts is a member of the firm’s trial services group, Lake is a tax and business lawyer, McClead is a member of the firm’s labor and employment group, Roman practices in the firm’s municipal and trial services groups and Stevenson practices with the firm’s business services and public sector groups.

Landry/French Construction Co. in Scarborough promoted Mason Rowell to senior project manager. Rowell was previously a project manager.

Pierce Atwood LLP, a law firm in Portland, named Emily Cooke and Katie Nokes Minervino partners. Cooke is a member of the firm’s business practice groups and Minervino is a member of the firm’s immigration and employment practice groups.

Aroostook Aspirations Initiative in Presque Isle promoted Kristen Wells to executive director. Wells had been serving as interim executive director since August.

Bernstein Shur, a law firm in Portland, elected Eben Albert and Steven Gerlach as shareholders. Albert is a member of the firm’s business, litigation and dispute resolution and technology, outsourcing and data security practice groups while Gerlach, a tax attorney by training, is a member of the firm’s labor and employment and business law practice groups.

Sea Bags, a designer and manufacturer of handmade items from recycled sails in Portland, promoted Laura Hnatow to vice president, marketing and e-commerce.

Appointments

The Portland Public Schools’ Occupational Therapy Department said that Tracey Falla, district occupational therapist, was elected president of the Maine Occupational Therapy Association.

The Maine Association of Conservation Districts elected Bruce Talley president. Talley is a supervisor of the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Woods End Laboratories in Mount Vernon announced that its Solvita Field Test Kit was nominated Top Product of the Year by Ag Professional, a magazine for the agricultural retail industry. The test kit allows farmers to measure soil health without the need for laboratory testing.

Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport announced Jessica Scata, Erin Rodin, Pam Farmer, Dawn Tassi, Sarah Hood, Jamie Schools, Meredith Benner and Sara Couillard recently became Certified Lactation Counselors in its OB/GYN, Pediatrics and Women’s Health practices.
