Kalikow to stay USM leader through 2015

University of Southern Maine President Theodora Kalikow’s appointment to the university’s top spot has been extended for another year, through June 2015.

James H. Page, chancellor of the University of Maine System, announced the extension in a press release Tuesday. Kalikow first came to the top spot at USM in 2012 after serving as president of the University of Maine at Farmington from 1994 to 2012.

Her original appointment was set to expire in June 2014. Page said the extension will allow Kalikow time to establish concrete goals for the university before it begins a national search for its next president.
