Mitchell pitches MLB report today
Later today, former Maine Senator George Mitchell will release his blockbuster report on doping in Major League Baseball.
The report, which clocks in at more than 300 pages, is rumored to include scores of names of current and former ballplayers with links to performance-enhancing drugs, according to the Associated Press, which spoke with sources familiar with the report. The Mitchell report also is expected to criticize both Major League Baseball and the players' union for not cracking down on what one AP source called the "deep problem" of steroid use in professional baseball.
Mitchell is scheduled to release the report at a 2:00 p.m. press conference.
